Description: Kajian ini meneliti persoalan kemudahterancaman hasil risiko proses pengangkutan bahan merbahaya di laluan pengangkutan sekitar Bandar Baru Bangi. Persoalan sebegini semakin penting memandangkan pengangkutan bahan berbahaya mendapat permintaan yang tinggi dan berpotensi membimbangkan. Kajian ini menghujahkan bahawa pengangkutan bahan berbahaya merupakan salah satu agen penggerak yang mempengaruhi tahap keterancaman kawasan setempat. Objektif kajian adalah bagi mengenalpasti kawasan – kawasan yang paling terancam dengan melihat aksesibiliti pengangkutan bahan berbahaya. Kajian ini juga bertujuan bagi menganalisis faktor – faktor utama dalam kemudahterancaman dengan melihat hubungan antara agen pembawa dan penerima, penjanaan perjalanan yang membabitkan nilai muatan, aksesibiliti keselamatan, serta karakter kawasan yang terdedah. Lokasi kajian terletak di kawasan persimpangan yang semakin membangun iaitu Seksyen 13 dan Seksyen 14 Bandar Baru Bangi. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah pengamatan terstruktur di lapangan dan temubual mendalam untuk meneliti potensi keterancaman di kawasan kajian. Berasaskan penelitian terhadap faktor-faktor termasuk kekerapan perjalanan, pemilihan laluan dengan jarak kepada ruang utama penduduk, jumlah tekanan, dan bebanan yang dibawa serta keadaan fizikal kawasan, saiz dan pola limpahan kemudahterancaman pengangkutan bahan berbahaya analisis dan peta risiko keterancamannya dibentuk. Ruang utama penduduk yang diteliti termasuk ruang sosial, ruang pendidikan dan ruang ekonomi. Hasilnya digambarkan menerusi analisis ruang berasaskan sistem maklumat geografi iaitu semakin dekat jarak laluan pengangkutan bahan berbahaya maka semakin tinggi keterancaman kawasan. Nilai bebanan yang dibawa dan faktor penduduk juga merupakan penentu tahap keterancaman yang tinggi jika ia merupakan kawasan tumpuan. Jarak ketersampaian pihak berkuasa adalah ideal dibawah 10 minit dengan 200 meter dari lokasi kejadian. Peningkatan dan penambahan laluan bahan berbahaya di kawasan berpenduduk merupakan isu yang perlu diberi perhatian. Kajian ini disimpulkan dengan beberapa implikasi perancangan dan pengurusan persekitaran untuk meminimumkan risiko keterancaman setempat akibat pengangkutan bahan berbahaya.,This research analyse the issue of vulnerability due to the risks of the transportation of hazardous material around Bandar Baru Bangi. This issue vitally and will create a condition of anxiety due to the demanding on transportation hazardous material. The study argues that the transportation of hazardous material is an important agent in determining vulnerability of a local area. Objective of the study was to identify most endangered areas by looking accessibility of dangerous material transport. The case study also aimed to analyse the main factors in vulnerability by looking interrelationship carrier and recipient, trip generation involving cargo value, security accessibility, and character of the involved area. Incident location was at the interchange develop area namely Section 13 and Section 14, Bandar Baru Bangi. Observation towards involved area and interview were the method used to examine the potential of vulnerability to the affected area. The study identified several factors including trip frequency, path selection and distance from major activities, total burden, burden type and the physical characteristics of the area to be the most influential in determining the size and pattern of vulnerability from which vulnerability map was developed. Major activities areas include social space, education and economic space. Result described through spatial analysis which based on geographic information system was when the shorter distance of the route taken by dangerous material transportation there will be higher of the vulnerability area. The quantity of liability and population factor also were determinant the higher of vulnerability if this were focus area. The ideal accessibility time by distance of the authorities is under 10 minute with 200 metres from incident location. Increasing and addition of dangerous route in populated areas were issue which need given attention.The case study concluded by presenting several implication for planning and environmental management to potentially reduce vulnerability risks due to the transportation of hazardous and dangerous materials.,Master/Sarjana
