Description: This research describes how tolerance is transcendental. Those who do not practice tolerance will never be able to live peacefully with peers within a multiethnic society. Tolerance allows people to be respectful, helpful and supportive of their relatives, friends, neighbours, and co-workers. In short, it allows them to coexist harmoniously in society and develop. Secondly, we investigate the concept of tolerance within the Buddhist community of Chittagong, Bangladesh, how they understand the Buddha's teachings, and how they apply it in everyday life. Approximately two million Buddhists, mainly Theravadas, live in Bangladesh (0.7% of the population), 65% of whom live in Chittagong. In Bangladesh and especially in Chittagong plain, most Buddhists are of Bengali origin (Barua) and speak Bengali, while in Chittagong Hills Tract, most Buddhists belong to the Chakma and Marma tribes. There are other animistic minority tribal communities who, having been in contact with Buddhism, have adopted it without losing their ancestral customs, being an example of the syncretism of religion. Finally, this research explores how the principles of tolerance of Buddhism can provide transcendental elements for the coexistence of different religious and ethnic groups in a multireligious and multiethnic society, especially in a globalised world such as today.,Certification of Masters/Doctoral Thesis is not available,Master In Islamic Civilization
