Description: Many real data exhibit the property of skewness; thus, they cannot be modeled by the normal distribution. Accordingly, in this study, three new weighted distributions which can suitably be used to explain the data which have the property of either skew to the right or left are introduced. These distributions are size biased two-parameter Akash, power size biased two-parameter Akash and power length biased Suja. Several mathematical and statistical properties of these new distributions are derived and proved. The properties include moments, coefficient of variation, coefficient of skewness, coefficient of kurtosis, reliability analysis, hazard rate function, reversed hazard rate function, odds functions, generalized entropy, Rényi entropy, maximum likelihood estimation and order statistics. A real data set is applied to show that the new distributions provide a better model fitting as compared to many other distributions that have often being considered for modeling the skewed data.,Master Of Science (Statistics)
