Description: | Kajian ini membincangkan tahap penguasaan fiᶜl mādī dan fiᶜl mudāriᶜ dalam kalangan pelajar Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM). This study discusses level of mastery of Arabic past and present tenses among the students of Islamic University College of Malacca. Past and present tenses are important elements of Arabic morphology, that need to be understood and mastered effectively. In this study, level of mastery of the students concerning Arabic past and present tenses can be divided into three: firstly mastery of fundamental changes or wazan (poles) of Arabic past and present tenses for the various poles of tasrīf; secondly, changes of vowel and alphabet of the past tense for the present tense; and lastly, construction of Arabic sentence with past tense and that with present tense. Design of the study were selected using purposive survey by questionnaire instrument which was later analyzed by descriptive using sample percentage based on gender, age and educational level. About 40 respondents are selected of the students of Diploma in Islamic Law (DSI) and Diploma in Usuluddin. The finding is that level of mastery of the female students of the past and present tense is generally (21.66%) compared to the male students (15%). Otherwise, students aged 18-21 years old with percentage of 32.5% better understand the past and present tenses compared to the male students aged 22-25 years old with percentage 5%. The students who hand before attended religious school 25% better understand the past and present tenses compared to the respondents who had before attended daily school type (12.5%). The research showed that there is only 18.61% of the students found to have mastered the past and present tenses. This study clearly indicates that the students are still at the weak stage of mastery of the past and present tenses.,Master / Sarjana |
