dc.description.abstract | Virtual instrumentation (or VI) approach is becoming commonly used nowadays. LabVIEW by National Instruments offers a wide range of VI functionality using USB DAQ-6009. This project employs DAQ-6009 in controlling a car prototype enabling it to be parallel-parked in a predetermined space. Inputs from a set of ultrasonic sensors are used to give feedback signals to the system, maneuvering the car prototype safely (collision free navigation). Two type of controllers are used; namely PI and Fuzzy Logic controllers. Basically, the car prototype is controlled from a desktop (to realize this, PID additional toolkit of LabVIEW 7.1 is used) with USB DAQ-6009 as an interface module. In the end of this paper, results from both controllers are analyzed, discussed and recommendations are included to improve this work in the future. | - |
