Abstract: this paper presents an assessment of the health status of the Singaporean population as measured by a multi-attribute health status classification system. The assessment described the functional health status of the population on eight aspects or dimensions of health : seeing, hearing, mspeaking, walking, use of hands and fingers, feeling, memory and thinking, and pain. differences in functional health status among difference demographic group are analysed. the results of the study may help to better understand population health and health care needs and to plan health care services. This research attempts to introduce the health care program evaluation research in Singapore and Asia
