The first objective of this empirical research is to analyses the difference of generic strategy implemented by small textile and garment industries in Surakarta. The second is to identify the market and financial performance between them. Factorial analyses was used to ensure that measurements applicated in this research were generally consistent with the generic strategy identified by Porter. Cluster analyse grouped the small industry into three Porter's generic strategy, and analyses of variance was used to test first and second hypothesis. Results indicate that there was significant different of generic-strategy adapted by the entrepreneurs of the small industry. But, there were no significant differences both market and financial performance between the small industry based on strategy implemented.-
