Abstract: This research was commissioned to examine and trying to solve problems in the construction and manufacturing industry in pipe plumbing. Yet, the report evaluates this range and concludes that it would be an ideal the solutions would give actions in decreasing the corrosion rate, reducing the toxicity of water in order to maintain the populations of aquatics and preserving the ecosystem. Therefore, our solution for this major problem is by applying the extract of Imperata Cylindrica as organic substance to form a new potential corrosion inhibitor solution. Extracts from the Imperata Cylindrica parts were found to have anti-corrosion properties of alloy metals and also contain high mechanical and physical characteristics that can slower the rate of corrosion of the oil and gas piping. It is also pollution free and environmentally safe as it is a green corrosion inhibitor. Green corrosion inhibitors are biodegradable and do not contain heavy metals or other toxic compounds. Some research groups have reported the successful use of naturally occurring substances to inhibit the corrosion of metals in acidic and alkaline environment. In this study, we aimed to find out whether Imperata Cylindrica extract becomes an originally safe coating agent. Imperata Cylindrica is found widely in Malaysia. Imperata Cylindrica will benefit us if it is treated with proper treatment and process. The outcome of this study shows that the anti?? corrosion properties of alloy metals of Imperata Cylindrica has high potential to be utilised in order to create a greener environment.
