dc.description.abstractThis paper describes the study of F1 in Schools" miniature car performances by applying various designs. FI in Schools" is a competition where young students compete on miniature car performances which include its speed, aerodynamics and manufacturing quality. The main objective of the study is to produce the best design of F1 in Schools" in term of car which gives out the best performance outcome. The car was designed using 3-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) software and manufactured using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling machine and 3D rapid prototyping. The material of the car is mainly balsa wood and Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic. The car is launched on the track with pressure of carbon dioxide gas inside a canister that is put inside a chamber at the back of car. The car is coated with suitable finishing. The performances are evaluated through its aerodynamics using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software, its speed using F1 in Schools� 20 meter track testing and its manufacturing quality according to the scrutineering results of the car. The best car design was successfully obtained at the end of study after evaluating its performances through various methods.-
