Web-based GIS application for muslim cemetery information in Perak Tengah

Abstract

The problem to indicate the exact location for each cemetery will encounter problems and misidentification to people who want to visit the cemetery. The integration between Geographical Information System (GIS) technology and Web-based programming can help people to find location and information about Muslim Cemetery easily and quickly. The development of open source software application, Autodesk MapGuide has become a medium to provide an interactive GIS functions in order to manipulate the information on the map. The application provides functions of query, search and display which enable users to get the information that they needs. Apart form that, the map displayed in the web can be printed in hardcopy form for references and further investigation. Therefore, this application will deliver all the information about location of Muslim cemetery and detail information about the cemetery through Web-based effectively with lower cost and of course reduce the time consuming.
