dc.description.abstractInventory of freshwater Gastropoda family Thiaridae (Mollusca.Gastropoda) of Bi Island, Papua, Indonesia, was conducted in February 2008. Four direction (north, soul east, west) of the island were intensively surveyed and the specimens were collected. A Ii transect method was employed throughout the areas. Twenty two species belonging ~ three genera, Thiara, Melanoides, Stelomelania were recorded during the study. Of the some species of Stelomelania are new records and the probably endemic species. It ~ found that species of Thiaridae were able to live in very diverse habitats. They distriba widely in all areas studied-
