Professional ethics in business will help to protect and to promote fair trade practices. However, these ethics differ from country to country and from organisation to organisation. What are considered ethics in Japan are not necessarily accepted in such places like the United States and Europe and vice versa. While Western companies stress on high profit margins and dividends for their shareholders in short periods, Japanese companies are more interested in enlarging their business volume and their market share over a long period. How these companies achieve their goals are determined by their corporate philosophy, guided by their moral and ethical values.en_US
