| dc.description.abstract | This paper is an attempt to test the convergence-of-interest hypothesis and the entrenchment hypothesis by analyzing the relationship between board (of directors) ownership and characteristics and the corporate performance. measures of performance are used: the modified Tobin's Q (MQ), beta and excess returns of the firm's stock. We used a pooled longitudinal data from 1982 to 1987 based on 35 industrial and commercial firms listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore. We employ the piecewise linear regression model for the analysis. | en_US |
