Abstract: This study investigates the pricing behaviour of Initial Public Offers of shares made in Hong Kong from May 1986 to April 1989. The aim of the study is to look for and measure any significant excess returns during the primary and secondary trading of these IPOs. Unlike most other studies in this field, including all the published ones for Hong Kong, this investigation used a more rigorous and analytically correct approach to the measurement of excess returns.
