Introduction Constituting one of the two principal schemes for ASEAN industrial cooperation recommended by a United Nations Team of experts, 1 multiple investment agree- ments are to be negotiated by governments of member countries entailing not only the allocation of specified industrial projects to individual countries, but also the granting of trade concessions and other incentive measures for the importation of the products from the countries to which the projects have been assigned. One such "package deal" has already been agreed upon, involving five large-scale projects allocated one each to the member countries. Identification of other regional invest- ment projects are apparently underway, some countries having signified intentions to bid for the establsihment of other heavy industries such as petro-chemicals and steel.en_US
