dc.description.abstractThe Korean government has been pursuing the continuous five year plans for national development since 1962. Now it is about at the end of the sixth period, and the seventh plan which will be effective from 1992 is under developing. Up to the fifth plan it was just called as the "five year plan for economic development". But social demands for the considerations on the developments of education, health, and social welfare let the government pay When the governement employed the sixth more attentions to these areas. development plan in 1987 the title of the plan had been changed as the "five year plan for socio-economic development". Indicators of education, health, and social welfare were recieved attentions in making development plans since then. Recently the government began to emphasize importances of the development of science and technology, SO Indicators for the development of science and technology will be reflected on the processes of developing the seventh plan.en_US
