Abstract: | Introduction. JISHU-KOZA is an example of an informal adult environmental educa- tion, prepared by a research assistant in a national university in Japan. It started after the students' movement for school reform in 1968-69, which generally failed to achieve its aim because of strong resistance by the school administrations. It had the support of public opinion in the beginning of the 70's against pollution, succeeded to some extent in the informal education of environmental facts, and established a kind of network among the local nature conservation movements in Japan. |
