Malaysia, being a developing country, has to industrialise to ensure continued progress and prosperity. Industrialisation means getting whatever feasible industries into production, thus providing jobs and consumer goods at the same time. In the efforts to industrialise, problems of pollution are bound to occur The effects can neutralize the good and comfortable life style created by increased productivity and per capita income. This danger of pollution must be guarded against, especially considering the experience of developed countries like Japan, United States and Germany. Environmental regulations must be enacted and enforced, though, in some cases, they could lead to a slowing down of economic development.en_US
