Abstract: In a Computer Based Information System (CBIS), the information systems accept (as inputs), store (in files or database), and display (as outputs) strings of symbols that are grouped in various ways (numerical, textual, & pictorial). Traditionally, information system utilises numerical and textual data. With the advancement of computer technology, the processing of information is no longer limited to numbers and texts. texts. It is also capable of processing pictures AM or I graphics. Hence, the incorporating pictures as capability of information part and parcel of an has increased the number of applications in area which few people have ever think of, in the past, such as a map based information system or in another word the Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
