Abstract: Normalisation is the term applied to a set of rules derived by Ted Codd of IBM, from the set of theory that reduces any universe of data to its smallest amount of data necessary to satisfy the application requirements. The process includes the creation of tables (flat files), eliminating derivable data elements, and determining that all data elements are fully functionally dependant in their respective keys. Even though data base was introduced in the 1960's, it was then during the Eighties it was made popular over the prevailing conventional file system. What exactly is a data base system? It is most likely we expect many would conceived it as a computer-based record keeping system. The distinction is that a data base is a repository of stored data in which data stored is both integrated and shared.
