Today, people in Malaysia have plenty of leisure (free) time and they will have more in the future. Part of this time is spent for recreation and sightseeing and some of these activities are conducted within a natural area or where the natural area serves as a background. Natural recreation and tourism areas include National Parks, State Parks (both terrestrial and marine as in Sabah), forest recreation areas (managed mainly by the Forestry Department), marine parks, resort islands, coastal beach areas, hills and highland areas.en_US
