Abstract: In a sense, the traditional Perak Sultanate could be considered aspice as an offshoot of the well-known Melaka Sultanate of the 15th through to the early 16th centuries. There were various general similarities found between the socio-cultural and political systems of the two Sultanates. Some of the similarities were perhaps due to the fact that by the early class 16th century, Perak was already a tributary of Melaka
