dc.description.abstractIn Malaysia the subject of professional education for These archivists has been given due attention from the time the National Archives vas established 16 years ago. The first two archivists recruited into the department were sent abroad for professional training firstly to ensure that the newly established National Archives would be serviced by professionally qualified personnel and secondly to meet service requirements. archivists received their training from the National Archives of India in New Delhi. In the years following three others vere given professional training at the University College London. The current programme includes one archivist undergoing training in New Delhi tho should be completing the course in September, and two having been nominated for the course at the University College London teginning this September and another two to the same place for 1974.en_US
