Abstract: After the well known excavations at the Spirit and Pung Hung the region of in 1969-1970 (Gorman 1970), prehistoric study in northern Thailand seemed to have suddenly stopped. prehistorians had entered and studied in the North for more than 10 years. The surveyed sites of the North are shown in Maps 1 and 2. None of In 1983, Pasook Dissayadej, Surasak Sisam-ang, Somchai Na Nakhonphanom, Navarat M. Khamnuankhet, Prateep Pengtako, Suwit Chaimongkol and myself surveyed 52 lithic industrial sites specifically in Mae Hong Son Province.
