dc.description.abstractPrehistoric archaeology in Malaysia owes its origin to the pioneer works of J.W. Earl whose earliest report was published in 1860[1]. In the report, he describes the characteristics and contents of prehistoric shell middens he discovered at the coastal sites in Seberang Prai (Province Wellesley), Gua Kepah. Human skeletal remains which he discovered sent to were as were later classified The sites F.W. Huxley in London. Hoabinhian. The pioneer reports of J.W. Earl were followed by those of A. Hale in 1865, 1886 and 1888 [2]. L. Wray, the first curator of the Perak Museum in Taiping did archaeological researches at Gunung Cheroh in Ipoh, occasional paper on Perak in 1880 and his reports were published archaeology in 1897 and 1905[3].en_US
