Abstract: | Using clean and healthy behavior in public places is one of the strategic efforts to create healthier public places, focusing on street food vendors. The clean and healthy behavior of food vendors involves the use of water sources, knowledge on how to process the food, waste handling and personal hygiene. This study aims to determine the effect of health education (Communication, Information and Education) toward changes in knowledge and behavior of food vendors. The study design was a quasi-experimental research design with pre and post intervention. The media used to disseminate awareness were flip chart, leaflets, standing banners and posters. The study results indicate that there was an increase in the knowledge and improvement in the healthy behavior of food vendors before and after intervention (p <0.050). To increase the health and cleanliness awareness of food vendors, regular counseling, coaching, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of clean and healthy behavior is needed. |
