Abstract: | This paper presents the analysis and design consideration of a resonant inverter operating at 13.56 MHz for wireless power transfer systems. The inverter is based on the class D inverter using GaN HEMT. The zero voltage switching (ZVS) is utilized to realize the low switching loss. Under the high frequency inverter operating condition the switching loss dramatically increases due to the effecting of the parasitic components and the ZVS condition is difficult to keep. The design consideration is presented based on the effect of the parasitic parameter, the component stress and the optimization of switching condition. The simulation results of the 13.56 MHz resonant inverter are shown to verify the validity of the design method. An experimental prototype is being built. |
