dc.description.abstractMotive and barriers of recycling program survey yield useful information about the potential of improving and implementing the program based on the participant behaviour. Interview surveys of 300 households are conducted in lskandar Malaysia Region (IM), Johar. The paper aims to examines the readiness of IM community to practice waste recycling. The result of this study shows that the factors of participation in recycling are equal results both for environmental concerns and economic benefits. Those who did not participate in recycling, listed household issues or behaviour, namely lack of time and materials to recycle, inconvenient, lack of space, lack of facilities and information as well as laziness, as barriers.en_US
