dc.description.abstractEnergy Self Sufficient Village (ESSV) Program is one way to tackle the energy crisis that occurred in the province of Nusa Tenggara Barat. ESSV development is aimed to utilize potential and renewable energy resources that available locally. For that purposes, this study brings issues on design and optimization of power plants that match with local potential and forecasting electricity needs of households in Pengadangan village in 2025. Case studies carried out in Pengadangan village, East Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Forecasting electricity demand of households using software LEAP (Long Range Energy Alternative Planning) with various scenarios. Forecasting result with various scenarios shows that comprehensive energy saving scenarios (CES) is a saving scenario that provide significant results in reducing overall household electricity consumption by 10.42% of total electricity demand of households by the end of 2025 compared with business as usual (BAU) scenario. Meanwhile, design and optimization of power plants using HOMER Energy and RETScreen software results show hamlet-scale power plants project with 100 kW biogas and 10 kW PV that will be built in five hamlets in Pengadangan village more optimum than village-scale power plants project. Although the views of the initial cost, O&M and NPC slightly larger, but in terms of reductions GreenHouse Gases (GHG) emission is much higher and for the equity payback is much lower.en_US
