Abstract: The experiment was aimed to test the modulus of rigidity of metal rod. The Torsion Apparatus consisted of two heavy metal brackets, a mass holder, and metal rod for test. The heavy metal brackets were held together with connected rods. A heavy metal pulley, moving in a ball bearing, was mounted on one bracket and was fitted with a dril I chuck to hold one end of the test rod, the other end also being held in another drill chuck. Two graduated scales were mounted on the top of the connecting structure rod, and two pointers could be clamped in any desired position on the test rod. From the experiment it was found that Torque is linearly related to twisted angle in radians. This apparatus is appropriate for undergraduate students in Physics Laboratory. As a result, it supports Thai wisdom on the principle of self-efficient intelligence without importing high-price apparatus from another country.
