Abstract: | The Year 2000 is only 11 years away. Will there be a quantum breakthrough in agricultural technology in that period? My discussion will be within the context of this scenario :- Continuation of Labour Shortages Increasing outside production -palm oils -other edible oils Malaysi a is in transition from an agricultural to an industrial economy. Other the next 11 years this will gain momentum . Labour non-availability can be expected to be more serious on estates unless our Govt takes positive measures , measures which they are we ll aware of. A very important point to bear in mind - the Plantation Industry is a cash cow that finances the transition to industrialisation . It has to be kept healthy . |
