| Abstract: | It is unquestionable that English is an international language and that the global spread of English is directly attached to the forces of globalization. Culture and language are intertwined. Thus, learning a second language cannot be separated from the acquisition of the culture that it embodies. Therefore, the stereotypes and other cultural biases of EFL textbooks can potentially impact students' attitudes. Because the English language contains sex bias (Martyna, 1980; Hyde, 1984), it is reasonable to conclude that English acquisition would transfer sexism to Thai students. |
