Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the application of computer aided assessment (CASA) as a tool to provide a quick self assessment for students at tertiary level of education. CASA is a type of courseware which that can be used to evaluate students' understanding of difficult concepts such as organic reaction mechanisms. Understanding such concepts is crucial before students as a prerequisite to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the central ideas in organic reaction mechanism. The potential of CASA is not diverse academic backgrounds. It is important for students to evaluate their own current understanding and get a detailed constructive feedback quickly. At the same time, CASA can be an important tool for instructors to evaluate and monitor their students' performance individually.
