In this paper a modeling and simulation of series active power filter (APF) for current harmonics reduction which is the combined of the series active and shunt power filter system is proposed. The two hybrid filter are based on combinations of an active power filter, a three phase transformers and the passive filter consisting of two single tuned filter to the 5th and 7th harmonics frequencies. The task of the active power filter is not to compensate for harmonic currents produced by the load which producing harmonic but to achieve "harmonics isolation" between the supply and the load. As a result, no harmonic resonance occurs and no harmonic current flows in the supply. The validity of the proposed scheme has been verified through simulation. Modeling and simulation were done using software MATLAB/SIMULINK and showed that their compensating performance in reducing harmonic current is better.-
