Abstract: Bursty traffics are known to associate with self-similar properly. It has a direct impact on network performance. Channel quality may also affect the performance, particularly when QoS routing decisions are to be made at a router node. Possibly, if parameters of the source traffic and the forwarding link can be precisely dimensioned for resource reservation, a better level of QoS guarantee can then be granted to user applications. The development of a traffic-descriptor thus far however, had only considered the Token-Bucket parameters, while the use of non-Token-Bucket parameters, which may contribute significantly to QoS achievement have been omitted. Hence, if resource-limited Bluetooth network is to be used a parsimonious traffic-descriptor that also contained non-Token-Bucket parameters must be developed for efficient and reliable routing decisions. A Matlab simulated router node was used to measure the performance of the proposed traffic-descriptor. It was found that a parsimonious traffic-descriptor could be generated with a promising performance.
