Abstract: The main object of this paper is to discuss the relationship between the strategy development process, environmental factors, and leadership types on the base of the alignment framework. The model shown on Figure 1 includes the relationship between contingency factors (firm size, environment, technology type) and leadership types (command mode, symbolic mode, rational mode, transactive mode, generative mode); the relationship between contingency factors and strategy development process (emergent, mixed, formal); the relationship between leadership types and strategy development process; and the affect of the positive association between leadership type-strategy development process on perception of alignment (strategy, process, customers, employees)
