| Abstract: | The position of Sa bang is very strategic, because is located in the mouth of strait which is busiest strait in the world, is Malacca Strait. The function of Sabang is become a free trade zone and afree port. This function is getting a consequence to develop this area. The problem is the topography of Sa bang has a limitedflat space because most of the area h slope above 40 %. So, the area that could be developing for making a harbor area is ve limited. The condition of Sa bang area could become a potential for natural disaster, sue as erosion and tsunami. To analysis which area that could be a potential for natur. disaster use spatial analysis that can be related as a work of identifying, interpreting, a analyzing spatial objects manually or by using Geographic Information System (GIS) a remote sensing technology. The variable to generate the erosion area are geologic aspect of the region such as type of bedrock, geological structure, drainage pattern, s type, soil texture and rainfall. Then those variables are overlay with land use pattern to the area of natural disaster area in Sabang. |
