Abstract: In this paper, theoretical perspectives will be draw upon to propose a framework to guide learning in school science. I will propose a framework that focuses on key issues in topic planning, implementation and evaluation, and teacher and student roles in learning through a sequence of representational refinement and negotiation in a range of ways that science concepts, processes and reasoning are represented to support enhanced learning.
