dc.description.abstract | Studies on self-regulated learning grew from an interest to understand students learning process. The major thrust of self-regulated learning strategies is to shift from teacher centered teaching to student-centered learning. Ultimately, this leads to life long learning process by which students are encouraged to manage their individual learning process. Strategies on self-regulated learning more often than not relates~o other implicit skills ora learning process such as collaborative learning, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and more recently skills to effectively acquire instructive information from the Internet. This paper highlights the study on the development of the interactive e-Iearning community (iELC). Moodie is used to develop the IELC discussion platform in a constructivist framework. Objective of the study includes measuring the effectiveness of the IELC discussion platform in developing learning strategies skills. The study adopted the Solomon-Four Group research design. The samples included Form Four Physics KBSM students from regular national secondary schools in Kuala Lumpur. The Learning Strategies Scale of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) was used to assess the samples use of learning strategies. Independent t-test result indicates that there is a significant difference in practicing learning strategies using the IELC discussion platform. | en_US |
