Lifelong learning by lecturers on E-Learning development in Sebelas Maret University

Abstract

This paper. will discuss about the development of E-Learning in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) affected learning pattern. Developing E-Learning in UNS began at the end of 1990, the same time with the introduction of internet technology in UNS. The use of ICT in learning invited various feedback from academic staff. Generally. academic staffs who are competent in ICT are young, and they are exited to use the ICT in their learning both as presentation media and teaching media. On the other hand, academic staff members who are incompetent in lCT generally are old and they feel that the development of ICT extremely fast and tend not to react with respect to the change of using ICT in learning. They tend to statically use the conventional learning media. Furthermore this paper, will discuss generally about the effort of the Educational Development Institute (Lembaga Pengembangan Pendidikan - LPP UNS) to acquaint the senior academic staff members with ICT
