dc.description | This thesis examines the effects of employee's affective organizational commitment in the practices of enterprise risk management. Employee's affective commitment is expected to mediate the relationship between all the constructs under risk management process and effective enterprise risk management. Additionally, this study expects to derive some patterns of association among the variables studied. This study will adopt quantitative approach by means of cross-sectional design in a non-contrived setting. Data for the study was collected via a survey conducted through self-administered questionnaire. The respondents comprised of employees of different public listed companies within the construction industry. As for the data analysis, multiple regressions were employed to test all the hypothesized relationship. The results of this study confirm that there is a significant relationship between all the dimensions of the risk management process and the effective enterprise risk management. The results obtained from the study also indicated that employees affective organizational commitment as a variable which partially mediates the relationship between risk control and risk monitoring under the risk management process constructs against employees perceived effective enterprise risk management. The limitations and propositions for future research are also discussed. This study contributes to both theoretical and managerial implications. Theoretically, this study extends the broad understanding regarding behavioral implication in the practices of enterprise risk management and contributes to the literature of organizational enterprise risk management from sociological or behavioral perspective.
