Description: The aim of this study was to enhanc the reading skills in English among the EFL Yemeni students using the CAReY (Computer-Assisted Reading Yemen) program. It also studied how computer-related and non-computer related behaviors help the learners to comprehend their reading. Based on the ADDIE instructional design model, CAReY was designed to meet the needs for language learning using reading materials that include reading lessons and comprehension exercises for the Yemeni students at Ibb University. The current study employed a mixed method, adopting both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A purposive sampling technique was carried out to select 20 respondents from an Engliaf proficiency course at Ibb University, Yemen. The data were collected from a survey, a semi-structered interview, and observation. The findings revealed that the respondents showed positive feedback on the CAReY program in terms of its usefulness, interactivity and easiness for enhancing their comprehension in reading the English materials. In addition, it was found that the respondents agreed that specific elements in the CAReY program such as hints, clues, immediate feedback and progress report of their performance are useful in enhancing their reading process. Next, the findings revealed that the non-computer related behaviors showed a high frequency of occurrences in the first three weeks and gradually showed a decreasing frequency towards the end of eight week. This decreasing frequency of the non-computer behavior indicates that the students became familiar with using the CAReY program over time. Finally, it was found that all respondents showed their positive attitudes towards CAReY when they voluntarily engaged in more practices with English reading materials and reading exercises offered in the CAReY program. The outcome of this study implicated that the CAReY program, which is introduced as a new teaching technique in a different context in Yemen may leave great and promising impacts on the students' learning process in particular, motivating them to make a good use of technology in mastering the English reading skills in the future, and therefore, can be used by students from neighbouring countries that carry similar demographic settings.,Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis" is not available
