Description: The purpose of this study is to look at the role of Age, Emotional Intelligence (EI), and personality traits, and some demographic variables – gender, education, and experience - as determinants that influence leadership skills. The study mainly focuses on how leadership skills can be influenced by age, EI and personality traits, and how leadership skills differ based on demographic variables. Two hundred and fifty one respondents who are currently working at the structural positions at the Indonesian Civil Service in the Central Government offices participated in this study. The questionnaires are in Indonesian language, consist of: 129 questions related to EI, 40 questions to the Big-Five personality traits and 43 questions to leadership skills, and were delivered directly to the participants for data collection. The data were analyzed using multiple regression from SPSS 22.0 version (Statistical Package for Social Science 22.0 Version). From the data it is found that Age, EI, Emotional Stability, and Openness determine leadership skills, while Conscientiousness, Extraversion and Agreeableness were not correlated significantly on leadership skills. With regard to demographics variables education and experience can differentiate leadership skills, while there was no difference based on gender. Further, this study showed that age affects the relationship between EI and Leadership Skills. This study may enrich the literature of EI and personality studies, help government officials to better understand the role of age, EI and personality traits including demographics factors in assessment and in the placement of the Civil Servants mainly to the leadership or managerial positions.,Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis" is not available
