dc.description | This study is to explore the supervision practices of school management teams and job satisfaction of teachers in public secondary schools in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and He Fei, China based on the dimensions of communication, staff development, instructional programmes, motivating & organizing and curriculum. The quantitative survey method was chosen by this study, the samples were 248 school managers and 367 teachers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and also 175 school managers and 346 teachers in He Fei, China. This study indicated research results as follows: Firstly, Malaysian managers have lower level of supervision practices than Chinese managers, meanwhile, Malaysian teachers and Chinese teachers have same level of supervision practices. Secondly, Malaysian teachers have higher level of teachers' job satisfaction than Chinese teachers. Thirdly, on the one hand, there are significant differences in supervision practices of managers based on gender, age and role currently hold in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; meanwhile, there are significant differences in supervision practices of managers based on age in He Fei, China. On the other hand, there are significant differences in supervision practices of teachers based on gender in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; meanwhile, there are significant differences in supervision practices of teachers based on age and years of experience in the role in HeFei, China. Fourthly, supervision practices have positive and strong relationship with teachers' job satisfaction bothin Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and He Fei, China. Fifthly, communication has the strongest contribution to teachers' job satisfaction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; meanwhile, motivating and organizing has the strongest contribution to teachers' job satisfaction in He Fei, China. This study would give useful suggestions to secondary schools and educational departments in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and He Fei, China, to improve the level of supervision practices, teachers' job satisfaction, and overall educational administration.,PhD | - |
