Description: This research aims to study the subject of the Quranic interpretation (tafsir), and to design the latest effective method for teaching to university students in Malaysia. This study seeks to uncover effective methods and explain the proficiency of lecturers in the subject of tafsir in several universities which emphasize the study of Quranic interpretation, and to highlight the fundamental issues related to the difficulties faced by students, and the teaching methods and educational curriculum that still do not meet the demands of innovation in the educational process. This study uses analytical theory method, descriptive and inference statistics method, and field study method by presenting two sets of questionnaires to 32 lecturers and 234 students. The questionnaires are to identify their opinions on the teaching of tafsir subject, to answer the following questions: What is the purpose of tafsir studies at university level? What are the effective teaching methods and techniques in teaching the latest tafsir subject, and what is the most important teaching aids used to teach the subject from the perspective of lecturers and students? What is the level of students' understanding and what are their views on the purpose of the teaching and learning tafsir process? What are the problems and challenges they face in teaching and learning the subject of tafsir? This study discusses the objectives of tafsir studies at university level and identifies effective teaching methods, the latest techniques and teaching aids used in the teaching of tafsir, by referring to the problems and challenges of teaching the subject of tafsir according to the opinions of the respondents from the lecturers and students and by exposing the factors that influence the students themselves. Among the most important findings of this study are; the study shows a high level of proficiency in terms of teaching methods, techniques, teaching aids and study objectives. This shows that the study of tafsir affects the ability of students to understand the subject, which gives them the opportunity to use it fully This will also have a positive effect on encouraging students to become proficient and master of Islamic knowledge especially in the field of tafsir. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of using modern and holistic teaching methods through traditional and modern education. It helps to improve the teaching and learning level of the subject of tafsir for university students in a modern way that can be improved in the future.,Ph.D
