Description: The study discusses the roles of international organisations for managing crises caused by ISIS/ISIL in Iraq. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria/the Levant (ISIS) has become a clear and present threat to the human and national security of Iraq and Syria as well as the regional and international security of Iraq. It is an extremist militant Islamic group that strictly follows the Wahhabism and Salaft-jihadi notions in addition to the perspectives and thoughts of Kharijites. The study found it is puzzling that, although Neoliberal Institutionalism tradition suggests that international organisations should help to solve Iraqi issues, the results of involvement of some international organisations in Iraq – UN, NATO and the Arab League – are limited. Having those issues in check, the study aims to: (1) investigate the crises that ISIS caused to national and human security of Iraq; (2) examine the roles International Organisations have played for managing crises in Iraq; and (3) determine the reasons behind the shortcoming of International Organisations in managing crisis in Iraq Organisation. Using neoliberal institutionalism theories, the study argues that international organisations should act as the main supporter to manage the strategies to fight ISIS and alleviate the crises caused by the terrorist organisation. To achieve the objectives, the thesis applies a qualitative approach using depth interview and secondary data studies for data collection methods. The data are analysed using a qualitative thematic content analysis method. The study finds some concluding points. Firstly, ISIS has worsened the crises in Iraqi national security and peace. Secondly, international organisations have played their roles in various levels by providing support for the fight but their roles in leading and orchestrating the efforts to return the stability of Iraq after the attack of the Islamic State organisation are very limited. Finally, there is a conflict of interests among countries, they cannot agree how international organisations should manage the Isis crisis in Iraq or what effect such management will have on their aims. The study suggests some recommendations. Firstly, international organisations should help the Iraqi government to relieve the humanitarian crisis affecting the people in Iraq and Syria and to strengthen government capabilities to provide national as well as human security and peace. Secondly, they also should help to limit and reduce ISIS threats to national, regional and global security. Thirdly, international organisation may help Iraq to achieve acceptable political solutions to cater conflicting factions in these countries to join the democratic system. Finally, observing some limitations of the study, the study proposes that future studies should be conducted by using theories Constructivism or Neorealism.,“Certification of Masters/Doctoral Thesis” is not available,Master of Philosophy
