Description:	Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in the economic activities in Malaysia. It represents 99.2 percent of all business establishments in the country. However, it also contributes substantially to environmental problems. This study was carried out in Petaling Jaya, Selangor which is the most populated districts in the state, and hosts the largest concentration of SMEs. The study explored the greening of small and medium sized enterprises in the food and beverages and electrical electronics sectors in the area. The objectives of this study were to (i) evaluate the policy measures that have been implemented by the government and SMEs in the greening of SMEs for the food and beverage sector and, the electrical and electronics sector (ii) analyse the interactions between the actors in the policy, economic and societal networks in the greening of SMEs (iii) suggest recommendations for best green practices to the relevant stakeholders. Questionnaire was the main instrument of data collection with 64 respondents, in addition to interviews and document reviews. Data collected were analysed using a quantitative technique. The major findings of the study were; in the economic network, the greening of SMEs is operationalised via ISO certification, environmental review, environmental training, innovation, and research and development, and they are positively and significantly correlated with export orientation of the firm. In the policy network, the greening of SMEs is operationalised via ISO certification, and environmental review, and they are positively and significantly correlated with legislative pressure. In the societal network, the greening of SMEs is operationalised via implementation of best practices, innovation, and export orientation, are positively and significantly correlated with the local community and media. The study revealed that within the economic, policy and societal networks, there is an informal interaction that takes place and this has a positive impact in the greening of SMEs in the sectors studied. This implies that self regulatory approaches through the application of networks should be encouraged for the successful greening of SMEs.,Pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana memainkan peranan yang penting dalam ekonomi Malaysia. Pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana menyumbang 99.2 peratus daripada jumlah penubuhan dalam negara. Namun, ia juga memberi impak terhadap masalah alam sekitar. Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji penghijauan pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana di Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Objektif kajian ini ialah (i) menilai langkah polisi yang dilaksanakan oleh kerajaan dan pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana dalam penghijauan pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana dalam sektor makanan dan minuman serta sektor elektrikal dan elektroniks di Petaling Jaya, Selangor, (ii) menganalisis interaksi antara pelakun dalam jaringan polisi, ekonomi dan kemasyarakatan dalam penghijauan kecil dan sederhana dan (iii) mencadangkan amalan terbaik penghijauan kepada pihak berkepentingan yang berkaitan. Instrumen utama yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data ialah satu set soal selidik dengan 64 orang responden. Data yang diperolehi dianalisis menggunakan teknik kuantitatif. Hasil utama dalam kajian ini ialah dalam jaringan ekonomi, penghijauan beroperasi melalui pensijilan ISO, pengkajian semula alam sekitar, latihan alam sekitar, inovasi, penyelidikan dan pembangunan, dan masing-masing mempunyai hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan orientasi eksport firma tersebut. Dalam rangkaian dasar, menghijaukan pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana adalah dilaksanakan melalui pensijilan ISO, dan kajian alam sekitar, dan mereka positif dan signifikan dikaitkan dengan tekanan perundangan. Dalam jaringan masyarakat pula, menghijaukan pengusahaan kecil sederhana beroperasi melalui pelaksanaan amalan terbaik, inovasi dan orientasi eksport dan mempunyai hubungan positif dan signifikan yang berkait rapat dengan komuniti lokal dan media. Kajian ini menunjukkan terdapat interaksi bukan formal dalam jaringan ekonomi, jaringan polisi dan jaringan kemasyarakatan. Interaksi tersebut memberi impak positif dalam penghijauan pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana dalam sektor yang dikaji. Hal tersebut memberi implikasi pendekatan regulasi kendiri melalui aplikasi jaringan harus digalakkan demi mencapai kejayaan dalam penghijauan pengusahaan kecil dan sederhana.,Master/Sarjana
