This research to examine the chronology of the ceramics at archaeological sites based on the distribution of Sungai Mas diversity of ceramics found results excavations conducted in 2006 and 2007. Even though she is more than thirty years, but there is still no detailed study of the distribution of ceramics in Sungai Mas based on the archaeological excavation of this study considers necessary in order to reconstruct the history of trade, settlement and the relationship between the countries around China, the Middle East and Europe and prove that the existence of the earliest settlements in Sungai Mas in Pengkalan Bujang is denied that the earliest port. The method used is to analyze the ceramics found in Sungai Mas on typology in which motif, color and texture of the ceramics were analyzed by comparison with previous studies such as Alaistar Lamb,Quaritch-Wales, Leong Sau Heng, Nik Hassan Shuhaimi, Othman Yatim, Asyaari Muhamad and many more. As a result of study shows that the site Sungai Mas is the oldest port in the Bujang Valley from Pengkalan Bujang based on the findings of ceramics such as pottery, ceramics, China (Tang, Song-Yueh, Ming, Ching), Middle East and ceramic Netherlands. Archaeological excavations at the Sungai Mas also revealed that Sungai Mas community has produced pottery in large quantities before they receive the influence of Buddhism. This study will contribute to a new interpretation of early civilization centered Bujang Valley to the golden era of Sungai Mas from Pengkalan Bujang. Data directly related to the Sungai Mas ceramics can be made general reference in the future to run along lines Bujang Valley history.,Sarjana Persuratan | |
