dc.descriptionCompetition law has become the latest hype in Malaysia since the enforcement of the Malaysian Competition Act 2010 in January 2012. However, this is nothing new, as competition regulation in the communications industry has been around since 1999 under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Competition law involves the promotion or maintenance of a competitive market, which has various objectives and benefits. This paper examines the definition of competition, communications and convergence, and how competition law is affected by the converging communications industry.
