dc.descriptionSistem Algebra Komputer (SAK) merupakan salah satu perisian komputer yang digunakan untuk penyelesaian matematik daripada masalah yang mudah hinggalah kepada yang kompleks. Ia juga boleh diaplikasikan dalam pelbagai bidang keilmuan. Sejajar dengan itu, kajian ini telah dijalankan dengan melibatkan dua aspek utama iaitu: i) Reka bentuk pembangunan pakej simbolik pendidikan fizik (i-phys) berasaskan kepada konsep pedagogi SAK. Konsep pedagogi SAK yang dimaksudkan ialah interaktiviti, visualisasi, eksperimentasi, teknik langkah-demi-langkah, kepelbagaian perwakilan, dan prinsip kotak putih/kotak hitam. Pakej i-phys dibangunkan melalui teknologi perisian SAK iaitu Mathematica 8.0.4 sebagai kernel pergiraan, webMathematica 3.0.1 sebagai web aplication sementara Apache Tomcat 7.0 sebagai web server. ii) Menguji kebolehgunaan pakej simbolik pendidikan fizik (i-phys) bagi topik Forces and Motion terhadap 33 orang pelajar tingkatan empat sains. Pengujian kebolehgunaan ini bertujuan mengukur keupayaan perisian tersebut berdasarkan kepada atribut keberkesanan, kebolehbelajaran dan kepuasan. Setiap atribut kebolehgunaan ini mengandungi kriteria kebolehgunaan iaitu interaktiviti, visualisasi, eksperimentasi, teknik langkah-demi-langkah, kepelbagaian perwakilan, dan prinsip kotak putih/kotak hitam. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan ialah senarai semak pengujian kebolehgunaan, ujian pasca dan skedul temu bual berstruktur. Ujian korelasi Pearson digunakan untuk analisis data bagi menguji hipotesis kajian. Ujian-t digunakan untuk melihat perbezaan skor ujian fizik pelajar setelah menggunakan pakej i-phys. Selain daripada itu, analisis regresi berganda dijalankan untuk melihat kesan atau sumbangan atribut keberkesanan, kebolehbelajaran dan kepuasan menggunakan pakej i-phys terhadap skor ujian fizik topik Forces and Motion. Analisis data dilaksanakan menerusi perisian SPSS 16.0. Hasil analisis menunjukkan pelajar amat bersetuju bahawa pakej i-phys yang mengandungi ciri-ciri konsep pedagogi SAK berkesan untuk pembelajaran, memudahkan pelajar belajar dan memberi kepuasan belajar kepada pelajar. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan atribut kebolehgunaan tersebut mempunyai hubungan linear yang positif antara satu sama lain. Dapatan juga menunjukkan keberkesanan, kebolehbelajaran dan kepuasan menggunakan pakej i-phys merupakan faktor penyumbang kepada pencapaian ujian fizik pelajar.,Computer Algebraic System (CAS) is one of the computer applications used to solve mathematical problems ranging from the easiest to complex ones. It can also be used in many other disciplines. Therefore, this study was carried out involving two main aspects: i) Designing physics education symbolic package (i-phys) based on the pedagogy concept of CAS. The pedagogy concept of CAS encompasses interactivity, visualization, experimentation, multiple representation, step-by-step technique, and white box/black box principle. i-phys package was developed using the technology of CAS application that is Mathematica 8.0.4 as computational kernel, web Mathematica 3.0.1 as temporary web application and Apache Tomcat 7.0 as web server; and ii) The usability testing of the physics education symbolic package (i-phys) on 'Forces and Motion' topic among 33 form four students. The objective of usability testing was to measure the application's ability based on several attributes which are effectiveness, learnability and satisfaction. Each of the usability attribute consists of usability criteria namely interactivity, visualization, experimentation, multiple representative, step-by-step technique and white box/black box principle. Research instruments used in this study were usability check list, post assessment and structured interview schedule. Pearson correlation test was used for data analysis to test research hypothesis meanwhile T-test was used to study the difference between physics test scores after using i-phys package. Apart from that, multiple regression analysis was performed to learn the effects or contributions of the attributes mentioned beforehand i.e. effectiveness, learnability and satisfaction in using i-phys package; on the scores of physics test particularly on 'Forces and Motion' topic. Data analysis was achieved using SPSS 16.0 application. Based on the analysis results, the students strongly agreed that i-phys package consists of pedagogy concept of CAS that is effective in learning, eases the students to learn, and satisfies the students' learning process. The analysis results also showed that effectiveness, learnability and satisfaction in using i-phys package are contributing factors to the achievement of the students in physics test.,PhD
